Have you been up to the youth room lately?  Over the spring and summer, Pastor Eric and some of the youth leaders did something pretty cool.  They took old wooden shipping pallets, tore them apart, took out the nails and sharp edges and then built a wall out of the wood.  They took something old and useless and made something amazing out of it.

Something similar happened a few years ago when we were building the auditorium.  The artist who created our stained glass window, Janice Stefan, ran into some problems.  The first few large panes of glass that she created cracked in such a way that they were unusable in the window.  Instead of throwing out all the blue and green glass from the cracked and broken panes, Janice began shaping the broken pieces into works of art that are incredibly beautiful.

I love it when old and useless things find new purposes and new life.  I love it when old barn wood is refinished and used to beautify a space, when an old car is restored, when broken glass becomes a work of art and when shipping pallets become a feature wall.  Did you know that God does the same thing with our regrets and hurts?

This weekend we’ll be exploring how God takes our regrets and redeems them, making something beautiful and purposeful out of something ugly.  I hope you’ll join us this weekend as we explore the life a man named Joseph, who was abused and mistreated, but who found redemption as God made something beautiful out of the injustices in his life.  Together we are going to discover three principles for redeeming our regrets.
