- Read Ephesians 2:1-10. What surprises you most about grace in this section?
- What is the difference between grace and justice? Why is it that we are saved by grace and not by justice or fairness?
- Paul says that you are God’s handiwork. What story do you see God writing in and through your life?
- How does it feel to consider that we are responsible for our own sins and desires and are unable to lift ourselves out of this condition?
- Describe how it then feels to recognize the power and efficacy of God’s grace to lift us and free us.
Pray:
- In small groups of 2-3:
- What is a sin, transgression, or an area of deadness in your life that you would like to confess? As each person confesses, declare God’s grace, forgiveness, and freedom for them through prayer.
- Think about someone you know who is going through challenging times right now (Christian or non-Christian). Pray that they might experience God’s enlivening grace.
- Share any other prayer requests and pray for them.
