- When you think about your current involvement in the church, do you feel more like a participant or a spectator? Why? Do you tend to wait to be asked, or do you proactively look for ways to serve? Why?
- Where might you be evaluating what you receive rather than discerning what you can contribute?
- What gifts, experiences, passions, or spiritual nudges have you sensed in the past but hesitated to act on? What has held you back – fear, time, insecurity, comfort? When you have acted on those, what spiritual blessings have you received?
- Where are you being equipped right now (through preaching, classes, mentoring, experience)? How has this equipping helped you to serve better? What other equipping would you like to see?
- If every believer truly embraced their role in ministry, what would change in our church? What would change in our world?
- If you are on the sidelines, what is one small, concrete step you could take in the next month to move off the sidelines? What is one thing the group encourage you to move from “I’m not ready” to “I’m willing”?
Prayer
- Pray that God would reveal one specific step each person is being invited to take. Pray for courage to act without waiting for perfect confidence. Pray that your church would grow not just in numbers, but in Christlike maturity for the sake of others.
