The Board of Elders met on February 22, 2022, and as part of the meeting, took time to reflect on what God has been doing in Living Hope. Our worship gatherings in January and February were filled with many memorable moments. Pastor Kirk spoke with reminders from I Thessalonians 5 to not quench the Spirit by taking for granted what he is doing or by ignoring his prompting and leadership. Instead, we should continually give thanks for His work in our lives and Living Hope, and seek to know God more clearly what he wants to do next. A time of prayer followed.
We are thankful for the 40 persons who attended the Encounter weekend on February 5.
We are thankful for the 15 persons currently engaged in our Soul Care course during MidWeek.
We are thankful for the young mother baptized in February and eight others who have been baptized during this ministry year.
We are thankful for the 30-40 people who attend Pray First each week to pray for our church and ministries.
We are thankful for the many new faces who have joined us over the last year.
We are thankful for those who have applied for the Family & Children’s Pastor position. We look forward to updating you on the progress of hiring for this position in the coming months.
We are thankful for faithful giving to ministry needs during the last year.
Giving Statements have been either mailed/emailed to meet income tax deadlines. If you have not received your copy, please contact the church office.
During the business of the meeting, the general policies of the church were reviewed by the board to reflect consistency. The board also reviewed the membership list. Given changes in the church in recent years, attendance and serving patterns during COVID, and the reality that we have members on our roster who are not active in the church, the board decided to begin a membership affirmation process. In April, a letter will be mailed to each member asking them to affirm their commitment to Living Hope’s membership covenant (which will be included with the letter).
Our next Board of Elders meeting is scheduled for March 22.
