The Board of Elders met on February 28, 2023 for our regular monthly meeting. We are thankful during this transition time for how God is so obviously at work in our midst. These are among the many things for which we praise Him:
– God’s transformation in many hearts through ‘The Story’, our sermon series, and weekly activities
– a growing number of new views by people online for our weekly services
– 11 new members who have committed to Living Hope Alliance
– our giving needs were met for the month of February
– worship opportunities and training provided by Deeper Life Ministries
– students who have volunteered to help in Children’s Ministry
The Pastoral Search Committee continues their work in discerning who is God’s choice for our next Lead Pastor. We thank each one who took the time to attend the Discernment Evenings and fill out the Pastoral Bias Survey. This information has been synthesized to help determine the next step. The Board met all day on March 4 to pray through and discuss this information; the result was a unanimous decision to post the Lead Pastor position. Our Interim Lead Pastor, Al Fedorak, and Pastoral Search Committee chair, Kevin Gatschene, will meet with our District Superintendent on March 15. The closing date for submissions will be 30 days after posting. The Pastoral Search Committee will present a short list of candidates to the Board of Elders by April 25. The Board will decide whom to invite to candidate by May 16, with the desire for a candidating weekend in early June and a start date September 1, 2023. Please pray for our Search Committee and our Board of Elders throughout the process.
We have some special dates on our calendar:
– Our Staff and Board Members have been invited to participate in the President’s Round Table on March 23.
– There will be a Ministry Leaders training event on March 26.
– The Canadian Midwest District Conference will be held June 5-7 at McDiarmid Drive Alliance in Brandon.
Change is all around us as we move into spring. May Holy Spirit guide us as we seek to build bridges to our communities, our workplaces, and our homes, serving together to help others become what Jesus envisions. We urge you to continue praying for your Staff, Board of Elders, and Search Committee during this exciting time of pursuing God’s will for our church.
