- What strikes you about the story Jesus tells in Mark 12:1-12?
- Are there places in your life where you are acting like an owner and not living like a tenant?
- Who has played the role of messenger in your life? Are there any messages you have received that have been difficult to hear?
- Read Psalm 118:22-23. What is Jesus trying to communicate by quoting this passage? How have you struggled to embrace the Son?
- Are there relationships in your life that the Lord may be asking you to pay attention to because of this story?
- What is one area of your life you are holding back from the Lord for fear that He may ask too much of you? What step can you take this week to commit yourself completely to the Lord?
- What’s so marvelous about what God has done in this world and in Jesus His Son? How can you/we better communicate this marvelous work to the unbelievers we know?
Prayer
- “Father, I am filled with awe and wonder when I read Old Testament prophecies like this one being fulfilled in Jesus in the New Testament. Thank You, Lord, that Jesus was the stone that the builders rejected, and yet in Your grace, He is the Cornerstone. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, my Saviour and my Redeemer. May my life reflect and give You all the praise and glory. Amen.”
