Group Discussion – May 25, 2025

Connect:

  1. Recall a time when you were treated unfairly. How did it make you feel? Did anyone come to your defense?

Discuss:

  1. Read Micah 2:1-11. Where do you see injustice or exploitation happening in our culture today—whether through systems, policies, or personal behaviour?
  2. Think of a group of people obviously vulnerable and oppressed who are in your city. How can you use the power or privilege you’ve been given to bless and lift up this group or an individual in that group?
  3. Verse 6 shows people resisting prophetic truth because it’s uncomfortable. Are there parts of God’s Word that you tend to avoid or resist? If so, what makes it uncomfortable? How can you lean into those areas more faithfully?
  4. Micah contrasts false messages of comfort with the hard truth from God. What’s one false message of comfort that the culture repeatedly tells us? What methods can we use to discern the difference between comforting lies and convicting truth?
  5. In your spheres of influence, consider where oppression might exist. How might God be calling you to respond? What is one thing you could do to stand against oppression and speak for justice with the grace of Jesus?

Pray:

  1. Share requests with one another. Pray for each person to see injustices around them and to have courage to act with compassion and truth even when its uncomfortable.
