- Read John 1:1-5.
- What does Holy Spirit draw to your attention?
- What questions come from the text?
- What is the Scripture referring to when it talks about “the Word?”
- What is the Scripture trying to convey by calling Jesus “the Word?”
- Pastor Tim talked about Jesus being fully God and fully human. Why are both of these important?
- If Jesus is fully God and fully human, what are the implications of this for us today?
- What does it mean for you that Jesus enters into your life, no matter what sin, evil, or brokenness you have experienced?
- How does this affect how we live our lives as followers of Jesus?
- What takeaway or application do you have from the message and small group discussion?
Pray:
- In groups of 3 or 4:
- Share prayer requests and pray for one another.
- Take a moment to ask God to reveal to you who you should serve this Christmas season, especially someone who does not know Jesus. If a name comes up, share it with your group and pray for an opportunity. Pray for the opportunity to serve and love them where they are, and to share Jesus and invite them to a Christmas Eve Service.
- Finish with a short prayer together as a whole group.
