- What stood out to you about the ascended Jesus from this week’s sermon? Was there anything new or compelling that you heard?
- After reading Luke 24:50-53 and Acts 1:1-11 together, discuss the following questions:
- What are the differences and similarities in the two accounts of the ascension?
- Do the different details offered in Luke and Acts add to your understanding of the ascension?
- If both Luke 24 and Acts 1 are written by the same person, why do you think the author includes the ascension in both books? What difference would the account of the ascension make to the original audience? Why is it important?
- What difference does the ascension make in your life today? Why?
- Do you believe that Jesus wants us to join him in his work of interceding for and blessing people? Why or why not?
- How have you been engaging in the B.L.E.S.S. practices? What has worked well for you and what hasn’t?
- Over the last five weeks we have been seeking to get a clearer perspective on who Jesus is and all that he has accomplished. Do you see Jesus and all that he has accomplished more clearly as a result? How has seeing Jesus clearly prompted you to respond differently to him?
