The Real You – “What’s Your Purpose, Really?”

The Real You

At the end of a work day my wife will often ask me, “What did you do today?” Some days I can rattle off a list of things I’ve accomplished, but other days I find myself wondering “What did I do all day?”  Have you ever experienced that?

I think we have all had this experience at one time or another.  Our schedules can be empty or they can be jam packed full; still at the end of the day we can find ourselves wondering “What did I really do today?  What did I accomplish? Does what I’m doing actually matter?”

I have found that when I am wrestling with these questions it is most often because there’s a need within me that isn’t being met.  We all get up in the morning wanting to do something, wanting our actions to mean something and make a difference, Sometimes, no matter what or how much we do, it feels like what we did didn’t make a difference. This causes us to wrestle with questions about our purpose and value.

This weekend we are going to explore two needs that we all share, the need to feel valued and the need to have a purpose.  Together we will discover how we can live every day with purpose, knowing that no matter what we do, we are valued and that what we are doing is valued.

I hope you are planning to join us on Sunday as we look at Ephesians 3:1-13 and discover what your purpose really is.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Kirk
