This weekend…

When my kids were little there was a phrase that Britton and I would often hear coming out of one of their mouths. It was “You’re not the boss of me!” These words came out of their mouths when one of them was being bossy and trying to tell the others what to do.

Sometimes when someone tells me what to do my kid’s words echo in my mind and I just want to say “You’re not the boss of me.” Have you ever felt like that? You and I aren’t the only ones who have felt this way.

This weekend we’ll be looking at a time when a group of people actually said these words to Jesus (well not exactly these words, but something like it). I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we look at Mark 11:27-33 and what Jesus said to the leaders of the Temple when they said, “You’re not the boss of us.” Together we’ll discover what happens when we refuse to submit to the leadership and authority of Jesus.

Marriage Preparation Course – May 11 and June 8

Are you planning to be married within the next year? Join Pastor Kirk and learn how to develop a strong foundation by exploring topics such as how to express feelings, learning to listen, ways to resolve conflict, finding common goals and values, and the importance of commitment. This 2-session course is for engaged (or soon to be engaged) couples or those exploring the possibility of marriage. The course will be held on two Saturday mornings, May 11 and June 8, from 8:30 am until noon. Breakfast will be provided. Register by email at info@mylivinghope.ca or call the church office.
