What does it mean to be “Alliance?”

I have been a part of an Alliance Church since the day I was born.  When I was growing up, when someone heard me talking about going to Kid’s Club, youth group or a worship service, I would often be asked, “What church do you go to?”.   Depending on what point in my life, I’d tell them I went to “Centermount Alliance Church,” “Woodward Alliance Church” or “First Nations Alliance Church.”  My answer always included the word “Alliance”and  there was always  a follow-up question:  “What type of church is that?”  Usually, the person who asked the question had heard of Catholic churches, Baptist churches, Lutheran churches or some other type of church, but they had no idea what an “Alliance Church” was. To be honest, neither did I.  

What is an Alliance Church?  What does it mean to be Living Hope ALLIANCE Church?  If someone were to ask you that question, how would you respond?  What are the unique things that bring us together as one church?  

This weekend our guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Bernie Van De Walle, newly elected District Superintendent of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Nunavut, will be speaking about the common belief we share with other Alliance Churches.  I hope you’ll join us as we explore the centrality of Christ and the fourfold Gospel that is the heart of what it means to follow Jesus and belong to Living Hope Alliance Church.

Campus Development has Begun!

Our campus development has begun.   When you come to the church, please park in the west lot and use the WEST ENTRANCE of the building. We will be attentive to that entrance. Please be careful with all the heavy equipment, construction workers, etc. It will be a busy place. You will only be able to use the Arcola Avenue entrance during this time to drive onto our property. Thank you for your understanding! The final result will be such a welcome addition!
