Where have you been and what have you seen?

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of travelling and seeing some incredible sights. I’ve walked along the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. I’ve watched the sunrise and set on both sides of this continent. I’ve hiked through the Rockies, and I’ve slept under the open skies as the Northern Lights have danced all night long. I’ve seen La Bufadora in Baja, California, I’ve been to the desert and hiked Camel Mountain in Arizona, I’ve been through the Red Rock Canyons and been to the Grand Canyon. I’ve walked on a beach in Turkey, along the shores of the Mediterranean. I’ve floated in the Dead Sea and stood on a mountain looking over part of the fertile crescent and the desert around it. I’ve gone on safari in Africa and caught sight of the Big 5 and I’ve stood under the stars gazing and marvelling at the Southern Cross. Each of these places took my breath in awe and left me in awe. Each place has led me into worship as I’ve marvelled at the genius and creativity of our creator in a whole new way.

Where have you travelled, and what have you seen that has taken your breath away? Has what you’ve seen in your travels ever drawn your attention to God? Has creation ever caused you to think about God and worship the creator? Worship is a natural response because all of creation bears the creator’s fingerprints. When we witness the beauty and wonder of creation, it is a glimpse into who God is—he is the creator and a creative genius at that!

This week we are exploring what it means to call God our creator and the invitation he’s given us to be with him in his act of recreation. We’ll be exploring what Genesis 1 and Revelation 21 reveal about God as creator and what he is doing today. I hope you’ll join us as we discover what it means to declare that we believe in God, Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Kirk
