A Different King, a Different Kingdom

Almost a month ago, the news broke that Queen Elizabeth had passed, and we had a new King. Immediately questions began to swirl about what it would mean in the Commonwealth to have a different King. What impact would a King have on the way we live? Would the Commonwealth continue to support the monarchy? Would the appearance of our money change? Would Harry and Meghan get their titles back?

We wanted to know because the expectation was that a different King meant a different Kingdom. Becoming an apprentice of Jesus is a lot like what happened back in September.

Becoming an apprentice of Jesus is about embracing a new King and a new Kingdom. Apprentices of Jesus live under the reign and rule of King Jesus as citizens of his Kingdom. Just as the transition from Elizabeth to Charles raised questions in the Commonwealth, the movement into the Kingdom of God raises questions. What difference does a different King make? What does it mean to belong to a different Kingdom? Do you know how a different King and a different Kingdom impacts your life?

This Sunday, Pastor Shauna will be looking at what it means to live under the reign and rule of a different King as part of a different Kingdom. I hope you’ll join us as we look at Luke 10:25-37 and learn how life under your new King begins with a change of heart and a change of perspective on the people around you.

See you soon,

Pastor Kirk
