About #97 Eddie Steel

Born in Winnipeg, Eddie Steele grew up playing football, first with the North Winnipeg Nomads and then later with the Kelvin Clippers before joining the Manitoba Bisons in College.  Eddie played a crucial role in the U of M team, winning a Vanier Cup championship.  In 2009 Eddie was named CIS All-Canadian and Canada West All Star.

Eddie made his CFL debut in June of 2011 with the Hamilton Tiger Cats. In 2013 he began playing with the Edmonton Eskimos where he helped them win a Grey Cup Championship in 2015.  In 2017 Eddie joined the Riders and had 18 regular season starts and two play off starts.  Last season, Eddie collected 23 defensive tackles, four quarterback pressures, two knockdowns and one quarterback sack. He added one defensive tackle in the playoffs.

Throughout his football career, faith in Jesus has been an essential part of Eddie’s life. He proudly declares that God is his guide.  Join us as Eddie shares his story of faith and football.
