Have you ever wondered what Jesus is doing today?

Have you ever wondered what an old friend you haven’t seen in a while is up to? Maybe it was a friend from high school, or perhaps it was an old co-worker, or perhaps it’s someone you just haven’t seen since the pandemic was announced two years ago. Sometimes when we think about an old friend we haven’t seen in a while, we open Facebook and scan their profile, or we’ll head over to Instagram to check out what they’ve been posting. Sometimes we’ll shoot them a text just to let them know we are thinking about them. And sometimes we’ll do something completely crazy like call them! Have you ever done any of those things?

We’ve all had people in our life that we haven’t seen for a while. And we’ve all wondered what they are doing. It’s normal. Have you ever wondered what Jesus is doing today?

Over the past month, we have been looking at who Jesus is and all that he has accomplished. One of the phrases we have heard repeated in the Scripture we’ve been looking at is that Jesus is “sat down at the right hand of Majesty,” which we heard means that Jesus accomplished everything he set out to do, that’s why he sat down. Have you ever wondered what Jesus is doing now since he accomplished everything he set out to do? If Jesus was on Facebook or Instagram, I wonder what we’d see on his feed?

This weekend, we will look at what Jesus is doing right now. I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we return to the book of Hebrews 4 as well as Acts 1 to find out what Jesus has been up to these days. We are going to discover that just because Jesus accomplished everything and sat down, it doesn’t mean he isn’t working today. Why not discover the great things Jesus has been up to with us?

See you Sunday!

Pastor Kirk

PS…At the end of this weekend’s worship gathering, there will be an extended time of group prayer as we invite everyone to gather with the people they came with, their community group or the people around them and pray for each other. It could be for a burden each other is carrying, or it could just be a prayer of blessing over each other. By doing this, we’ll join Jesus in the work he is doing today.
