Kids Ministry Director

Purpose

The Kid’s Ministry Director helps children grow in their understanding of and faith in Jesus Christ by working with the Kids Ministry Leadership Team to implement the Kids Ministry Action Plan.

Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP

  • Is an integral part of the Kids Min Leadership Team, supporting and implementing the Kids Ministry Action Plan 
  • Works with the Kids Min Leadership Team to evaluate programs and make appropriate changes to align with the vision and mission of the church and the Kids Ministry Action Plan 

TEAM BUILDING

  • Assists with recruitment of new team members
  • Schedules all Kids Min team members and finds replacements as needed
  • Provides helpful feedback to team members regarding teaching methods, classroom management, and performance
  • Tracks Plan to Protect and Police Check status of team members to make sure all are up to date
  • Assists in planning and teaching seminars such as Plan to Protect and leadership training.
  • Prepares birthday cards and volunteer gifts for team members

CURRICULUM

  • Contextualizes and distributes Sunday elementary and Midweek curriculum with supporting materials.
    • Oversees volunteers who come to prep materials as needed
    • Collects supplies and places in classrooms for each week
  • Oversees the Sunday preschool curriculum coordinator and the purchase of supplies for that week
  • Assists in the yearly evaluation of all curricula for scope and sequence, cost, and biblical content

ADMINISTRATION

  • Oversees the Kids Min check-in system with First Impressions team
  • Uses the Church Community Builder database to:
    • Correctly enter family and child information
    • Move children to different age groups
    • Report weekly attendance stats
    • Track attendance and identify absences
    • Add new team members to appropriate groups
    • Generate reports as needed
    • Create registration forms as needed

SUPPLY MANAGEMENT

  • Keeps track of and purchases supplies as needed
  • Organizes supply and storage rooms as needed

OTHER

  • Oversees the planning, execution, and follow up of the summer programs such as Kids Camp and Play in the Park
  • Oversees the planning and execution of Breakaway Camp, Grade 6 graduation, and other major Kids Min events
  • Purchases and prepares Christmas and Easter gifts for all team members

Works Closely with

  • Kids Ministry Leadership Team and volunteers
  • Other Pastors, Director of Operations, and administrative staff

Accountable to

  • Family and Connections Pastor

Work Schedule 

Term Position – September 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020

Additional Criteria

The eligible candidate must attend Living Hope Alliance Church and be licensed with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada by November 30, 2019.
