What did he mean?

Archbishop of Canterbury once said, “The Church is the only society that exists for the benefit of those who are not its members.” What does he mean by that? What do you think Archbishop Temple meant?

The invitation to become an apprentice of Jesus is never just about us. We begin as apprentices and then become people who help others become apprentices of Jesus. Jesus invites each of us to be people who are passionately devoted to him, deeply committed to the people of God (His church), and relentlessly focused on the lost (people who don’t know him yet!). This is what Archbishop Temple was talking about when he said the church exists, not for its members, but for those who are not part of it yet.

This weekend, as we wrap up our ‘3D Living’ series, Pastor Shauna will be talking about the third aspect of what it means to live as Jesus envisions. I hope you’ll join us as we explore what it means to have healthy OUT relationships and how to become the people Jesus envisions – people who are all about UP, IN and OUT.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Kirk

P.S. This weekend is our Annual General Meeting. Lunch will be available in the gym after the worship gathering ($5 per person, $20 for a family), and the AGM will begin at 12:45. All are invited!
